This painting is inspired by the scottish artist Peter Doig who did the Work "Contemplating Culture" in 1985. It shows the city of London in the background with a burning scene and the illustrative parts with the city. In the center, there is myself and besides me sitting the famous german Poet Goethe. The idea was to show between us having a chat about politics and the current pandemic we are in. Behind us is a table with food looking like were having lunch together. I have put myself in the place of the artist today. Expressing less excitement, but more curiosity and attention to the past. Face to face with Goethe who is one of the greatest Influencers of german culture.

This painting is called "Contemplating Culture", 1985 by Peter Doig. The person on the left looks like a reanimated visage of a classical sculpture representing the historic Influence . The man with the dark skin, punk hairstyle seems to represent the archetypal artist in Peter Doig's vision, young, angry and slightly punk with a flaming temprament.
